The Legacy of Distinction (1743) Born into the French nobility in 1743, Maison Bellamy was founded by Bellamy, the youngest son of the Marquis de Valois. His fascination was not with the court of Louis XV, but with the world and the way each culture honored its animals. Inspired by European elegance and the visual richness of the East, he used handcrafted metals and exquisite fabrics to create the House's first collier-médaillon: a piece that declared that pets deserve the same dignity and beauty as any member of the family.

In 1789, before the French Revolution, Bellamy concealed his creations with a maxim that is our eternal principle: “Whoever finds this, know that love for animals is the universal language of the noble heart.”
